Before the onset of Spring, pruning appropriate plants, cleaning out/weeding beds and fence rows, adding a pre-emergent herbicide and a new application of mulch in February and early March, depending on where you are located is an excellent way to significantly reduce landscape maintenance.

Weeds are opportunists and this circumvents their ability to thrive in early spring.

It is good to note that not all yards will experience large weed problems. Landscape with more sun will have more weeds. Shady landscapes will have fewer.
